No-Bake Cereal Bars - Peanut Butter Toast Crunch with mallow fluffI can’t even begin to explain my love for peanut butter toast crunch cereal. It’s not even a stretch to tell you it was one of the happiest days EVER, when I saw that PBTC was back on shelves (yes, us Peanut Butter Toast Crunch fanatics are allowed to abbreviate for easier discussion). I was taking pictures of it, obsessively throwing multiple boxes of it in our cart, and even texting my family about its return. Yep, I know, sounds like another normal night during a very random Wal-mart shopping trip.

Wait Mrs. Big Flavors, did you just say that Peanut Butter Toast Crunch is making it’s return? Weird, because in very bold letters on the top of the box it very clearly states “NEW!”.  Well, I’ll be the first to tell you that those people at General Mills are telling a big, fat fib because this is not the first time PBTC has been on the market. I believe it made its debut somewhere around 2004 and I quickly turned into a PBTC fiend. You already know how I practically lived on S’mores Bars in college, but since those were only available on Thursdays, it was PBTC for every other day of my week.

Mixing up Peanut Butter Toast Crunch TreatsNo milk required! Just a serving or two into a plastic baggie, and you have the perfect breakfast on the go or quick snack between classes or meals. I mean it may not be as healthy of a choice as that 1/4 cup of almonds all of the health mags suggest you eat when you’re hungry, but hey, PBTC is much more filling and curbs any salty, sweet, or carb craving.  My absolute favorite part is all of that peanut butter dust that coats your fingers while your munching away. Mmmm, nothing like a little peanut butter dust to brighten your day!

5 Ingredients - Peanut Butter Toast Crunch Treats

Some days, though, I just need a little more sugar! That’s where these super simple PTBC treats come in handy. In just 10 minutes, with no baking required, you have the perfect sugary treat loaded with peanut butter, fluff, chocolate, and even more peanut butter. What would be better!? But, be careful, these treats are extremely addicting. I know that every time I walk past the pan of these treats, I’m ripping off a little piece and stuffing it into my mouth. I just can’t help it! They’re like my all-time favorite S’mores Bars, but even better because they’re loaded with peanut butter. Obviously.

Peanut Butter Toast Crunch Treats - 5 Ingredients and 5 Minutes

So just stop whatever you’re doing right now. I mean it, Stop. Go out and get yourself a box of the infamous PBTC cereal and get mixing. You’re just 10 minutes away from a satisfying peanut butter, chocolate, marshmallow treat. Yuuuumm.

Peanut Butter Toast Crunch Treats

Serves 12
Prep time 10 minutes
Meal type Dessert, Snack

  • 1 box peanut butter toast crunch cereal
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips (plus more for topping)
  • 1 jar marshmallow fluff (16 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (frozen)

1. Pour cereal out into a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
2. In a large saucepot, melt butter over medium low heat. Add peanut butter chips. Use a wooden spoon to stir the melting peanut butter chips into the butter.
3. Add marshmallow fluff to the sauce pan. Stir ingredients continually, until peanut butter and fluff are combined and fluff mixture is loosened and easy to work with. Remove from the heat.
4. Working quickly, pour fluff mixture all over cereal. Use the wooden spoon to fold the fluff in, and evenly coat all of the cereal. Pour in chocolate chips and continue folding to distribute.
5. Transfer to a 9 x 13 baking pan. Smooth out and press down all ingredients into an thick, even layer. Top with additional peanut butter chips, also giving them a press so they stick to the fluff. Let bars form for one hour before serving.
6. Store in a air-tight container for up to one week (but I can guarantee they won't last that long)
