Mr. and Mrs. Big Flavors are two food and booze lovers from Buffalo, NY. It’s a special place to live… home to the largest two-day food festival in the United States, bars that stay open until 4AM, and recently voted as the least fashionable city in the country! (Bills’ fans and their Zubaz… never say die!)
It’s said that opposites attract. We may not have the same personalities, but we do share the same love for food. Our days are filled with grilling and cooking and baking as if we were feeding a family of six… but really it’s just the two of us and our little SPCA rescue dog, Izzy. You would think there would always be leftovers, but really…. our appetites are insatiable (good thing we also have gym memberships).
Mr. Big Flavors has been cooking at local restaurants for years. Over 10 years, in fact. He doesn’t require recipes to execute delicious flavors… for him it just comes naturally. Mostly self-taught, but with a restaurant background as well, Mrs. Big Flavors loves to scour cookbooks and the internet for new recipes to create, re-imagine, and build her repertoire. Simply put, we are passionate about food. Live it, love it. Our kitchen really is “little”, and over the years have accumulated so many gadgets that we have converted our “office” into an extra-large kitchen cabinet.
Like true Big Flavors, we discuss our lunch plans at breakfast and our dinner plans at lunch. If we are not making food at home, it’s because we are trying out new restaurants or eating at our old favorites. When we take a vacation, it mostly revolves around what food or drink we are to experience next.
What it all comes down to is sharing food and drink with each other, our family and friends. That’s the inspiration behind Little Kitchen, Big Flavors. If we wouldn’t feed it to our families, we won’t try and feed it to you. If it’s not worth the time or energy (or dirty dishes), you won’t see it here. In the end, we want people to know great food and big flavors, and then share them with the people they love.
